Oxford Computer Recycling
£6000 to get a shipment of 250 computers to Zambia.
There are 2 sides to this problem: the supply side (Oxford has computers, can we recycle them?) and the delivery side (Zambia needs computers, can we send some?).
If you have something to say about recycling computers at Oxford, please feel free to edit this page.

Paul Russell reports that each year he does a "dispose-a-thon" in Materials, but only gets a small handful (<15) of computers, of which most are below the Pentium II 266MHz spec. Last year there were 12 PCs and 35 monitors. There are hundreds of CRT screens being disposed of at the moment. Paul has a "blanking rig" which can destroy data on several hard drives in parallel.
